Why are coyotes, those cunning denizens of the plans and rural west, moving into urban centers like Chicago and Washington, D.C.?
This was an interesting hypothesis:
No one knows why coyotes are moving into cities, but Gehrt theorizes that shrewder, more human-tolerant coyotes are teaching urban survival skills to new generations.

My bet would be on hunger. I saw a white wolf a couple of nights ago. !!!!! Wow. Fucking amazing, beautiful! Anyway, the locals agreed that around this time of year sometimes the wolves get hungry. They'll send a female in heat down into the town, and she'll lure town dogs back to the pack. Dinner.
I wouldn't be surprised if coyotes did something similar.
